Tree cabling and bracing is the practice of installing slightly flexible steel strand cables and braces to help provide supplemental structural support for the tree. Cabling and bracing help alleviate stress related to intense movement in high winds, the weight of snow or ice, and the weight of the trees own heavy foliage. This method is incredibly important in places that have numerous days of severe weather, like our North Texas home. By providing structural support, you are limiting the amount of movement during days and nights filled with severe weather, which in turn prevents any branches from falling off and causing damage to your property. Tree cabling and bracing are similar to wearing a cast when you’ve broken a bone. By limiting movement you are allowing it to heal and remain strong so no further breakage occurs.
