Jim Sherman LCSW worked for a number of Social Services agencies including Child Protective Services (CPS), San Diego Children’s Hospital, Desert Hospice, Desert AIDS Project and the VNA Hospice. After many life changing experiences, I decided to go into private practice.

I offer individual sessions in person or by telehealth in California. Individual counseling (sometimes called psychotherapy, talk therapy, or treatment) is a process through which clients work one-on-one with a trained mental health clinician in a safe, caring, and confidential environment.

Groups are in the process of being developed based on client needs. The fundamental goal of group therapy is to initiate a sense of belonging or relatability through understanding, which is achieved by sharing common experiences.
