A Special Moment for Ukrainians Living in Ontario

The Ukrainian Heritage Month Act has finally taken place thanks to the efforts of the BCU Financial’s initiative! In November, 2024, Ukrainians in Canada and the rest of the country’s population could witness the second reading of Bill 215. Sheref Sabawy introduced this act. Now, each September is officially the day of all Ukrainians living on the territory of Canada. This month will be the time to celebrate Ukrainian customs and traditions, along with digging deeper into this land’s culture so that the heritage does not forget its roots.

The Ukrainian-Canadian community received a huge support from BCU Financial, who stood alongside the heritage during the event. Together with the local community, the famous credit union Ukrainian with 95% of Ukrainians as the members contributed a lot of effort and funds to make this bill come true. In fact, the preservation of Ukrainian legacy and culture in Canada is one of the most significant achievements of BCU Financial ever.
