Today, Gateway enrolls approximately 150 students aged 5–14, providing a supportive and inclusive environment where each child is recognized for their unique learning profile.
Mission & Educational Philosophy
Gateway’s mission is to transform the lives of bright students with learning differences by developing them into skilled, strategic learners and confident self-advocates. The school employs a multisensory, language-rich curriculum that integrates reading, writing, math, science, and social studies. Instruction is individualized, ensuring that each student receives the support they need to succeed.
The school’s academic program includes:
Orton-Gillingham-based reading instruction, beginning with the Preventing Academic Failure (PAF) program.
Writing instruction following the Hochman Method, integrated across all subjects.
Singapore Math, adapted to meet the needs of students with learning differences.
Classroom Language Dynamics, a framework to guide faculty in using language effectively when teaching students with language impairments and attention deficits.
