We sell home fitness equipment and last year started shipping to Brazil and the Netherlands. Card acceptance alone was not enough, customers expected Pix and iDEAL, and our main acquirer did not cover either. Through the directory we found three providers with local method coverage in those markets and compared their settlement currencies and payout schedules side by side. One never answered our inquiry, which happens, but the other two responded within days. We integrated one of them for local methods while keeping our existing acquirer for cards. Checkout conversion in Brazil improved after adding Pix, though we have not run a clean test to attribute all of it to the payment method. Overall the search took days instead of the weeks it took us in the previous market.
