Dr. Anna Abel earned her dental degree from the University of Maryland School of Dentistry and has been in practice for over 20 years. She is committed to helping patients be the joyous they can be with their smiles, in addition to providing excellent dental care. Her favorite procedures include veneers and oral surgery, such as bone grafts and dental implants. Dr. Abel has a strong passion for dentistry and is regarded as one of the most influential clinicians and educators in the history of dentistry. Dr. Abel volunteered at the Northern Virginia Dental Clinic on a regular basis and received numerous awards for her exceptional service and time spent providing care for low-income patients. She has also received training from the Academy of Aesthetic Dentistry and the American Academy of Implant Dentistry. She has volunteered with and engaged in numerous mission trips with the non-profit organization Operation Smile, which provides free services to children in need all around the world. Dr. Abel has been actively involved in coordinating fundraising efforts to support the organization and effectively carry out frequent mission trips since 1996. She has provided free dental care and surgery to children who have cleft palates, cleft lips, or other facial defects. She has served as the organization's Director of Dental Missions, assisting in the planning and execution of domestic and foreign missions to give free dental care, as well as critical supplies, services, and assistance to underprivileged nations across the world.
