Dr. Forest Christopher Port received his dental training at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, graduating in 1998. After dental school, he moved to Western North Carolina and in 1999 purchased his dental practice from Dr. Eddie Cranford in Hendersonville, NC. In 2000, Dr. Port pursued training in cosmetic and aesthetic dentistry from the internationally renowned Nash Institute in Charlotte, NC. He later became a clinical instructor at the Nash Institute and spent a year working side-by-side with Dr. Ross Nash and Dr. Robert Lowe, widely recognized as innovators in cosmetic and restorative dentistry. In addition, Dr. Port worked with Dr. Tom Orent, founder of 1000 Gems Seminars, consulting with dentists and dental teams across the country to improve their patient care. In the Fall of 2007, Dr. Port moved his dental practice to Arden, NC and founded the Family Dental Health of South Asheville. Dr. Port is a member of the Crown Council, a group of dentists dedicated to improving the lives of children through their sponsorship of Smiles for Life, an organization that has raised millions dollars for various health related children's charities. In 2010, Dr. Port and his team joined Smile Pink, a national organization founded by dentists to raise money for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. In collaboration with celebrity expert dentists from across the country, Dr. Port co-authored the book, More Than a Mouthful, published by Celebrity Press on August 11, 2011. The book educates readers and provides advice on how to protect your overall health by maintaining optimal oral health. The book hit Amazon's bestseller list in two categories. Dr. Port continues to pursue the most advanced dental treatments to provide the highest quality dental care for his patients. He was the first dentist in WNC to take the Six Month Smiles (invisible braces) training and remains the only preferred Six Month Smiles provider in the area. Dr. Port also offers innovative procedures like Invisalign (invisible braces), The Denture Fountain of Youth™ (FOY dentures), Somnodent (sleep apnea appliance), laser gum lifts, porcelain veneers, and beautiful metal and mercury free restorative dentistry. Dr. Port with his wife Heather and their children Hailey & Hunter love living in the beautiful mountains of WNC. They enjoy riding their bikes at the Biltmore Estate, paddle boarding on Lake Julian, traveling to coastal towns, and caring for their pets.
