Home Advantage Rehabilitation Solutions (HARS) was founded in 2008 by Kevin Mangan, PT, DPT and Michael Marzano, OTR/L. Together they have over 45 years of combined experience in home-based rehabilitation. HARS was formed out of necessity. Kevin and Mike, like most therapists, delivered therapy through traditional Certified Home Health Agencies (CHHAs) for many years. CHHAs provide an excellent and need service, especially to those recently discharged from hospitals and rehabilitation facilities. However, there were significant constraints on the frequency (number of times per week), and duration (number of weeks) of services, for a variety of reasons. Furthermore, when clients had to be discharged due to no longer being “homebound”, the only option was to refer them to traditional outpatient clinics. Unfortunately, the vast majority didn’t go to the clinic. This was usually due to transportation issues or laborious effort required to leave home. Many of those who did go were frustrated by the busy clinic setting, where one on one time with the therapist was limited at best. Their solution was Home Advantage Rehabilitation Solutions (HARS), a premiere multidisciplinary homecare company, where they could coordinate PHYSICAL THERAPY, OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY, SPEECH THERAPY, and a variety of ANCILLARY SERVICES.
