Seaboard Construction employs asphalt paving, grading and utility crews. Safety and traffic control personnel support the construction crews. Seaboard Construction also utilizes subcontractors for specialized areas of work. Seaboard Construction’s fleet of equipment and vehicles includes pavers, dozers, excavators, graders, compactors, dump trucks, lowboys, distributors. The fleet is maintained by certified mechanics at an in-house shop.
Harold James Friedman of Brunswick, GA founded Seaboard Construction Company in 1947. Mr. Friedman, along with senior partner Alfred Jones, organized and expanded the company over 33 years. In 1980 the Shepherd family of Atlanta, GA purchased Seaboard Construction and integrated it with Plant Improvement Company, Inc. Well-established with proven quality and reliability, Seaboard Construction continued to develop a strong presence in Southeast Georgia under the direction of the Shepherds, whose prior company built most of I-95 in Georgia.
