The Hundred 2022 season will be the second season of The Hundred, a professional 100-ball cricket tournament franchise featuring eight men's and women's teams from major cities in England and Wales.
The race will return after its first season, which was hit by the COVID-19 pandemic and met fierce opposition from traditional cricket fans. However, over 500,000 tickets were sold in the first year of the race and the race was seen as a major boost to women's football.
The Hundred's coordinators trust that all the more abroad players will actually want to partake in this second season because of the unwinding of lockdown limitations as the pandemic retreats.
Wages for men's players will rise by 25% in the last year and each team will be allowed to spend up to £1m on wages for a month-long competition. Player salaries have more than doubled from last year, with each team receiving £250,000 in wages.
