Let's look at what a root canal is and why it might be necessary.
What is a Root Canal?
A root canal is a relatively simple and painless dental procedure, similar to a conventional filling. For starters, the root canal involves removing infected or inflamed pulp (the soft tissue in the center of each tooth). The general dentist follows the procedure by cleaning, disinfecting, filling and sealing the teeth. In this way, the root canal also prevents the spread of infection throughout the mouth.
